“Calling all dog lovers who want to make a difference: Guiding Eyes is urgently seeking more puppy raisers and sitters in the Charlottesville or Richmond area!
Puppy raisers care for a Guiding Eyes puppy for varying amounts of time from 2 months to 12 to 18 months, depending on their availability. They provide the pup with love, socialization, house manners, and basic obedience in preparation for guide dog training. Sitters provide short term care for Guiding Eyes puppies while their raisers are unavailable.
No previous dog experience is required. Volunteers are supported through classes in Charlottesville or Richmond and one-on-one training with Guiding Eyes staff.
